Video is the Second to Debut in Volume 6 of the Association’s Popular #ClimberConnection Series

(Watertown, SD) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association announced today the official release of a video on Work Zone Protection. The video, the second to debut in Volume 6 of the Association’s popular #ClimberConnection series.

The video shines a spotlight on the safety best practices associated with Work Zone Protection, specifically relating to the appropriate use of temporary traffic control devices, proper signage, the type of PPE safety gear technicians working in these environments are required to wear, and the different scenarios workers are confronted with while deploying fiber, network equipment, and communications infrastructure in areas near pedestrian and traffic flow.

The video’s release is timely as generational broadband investments are slated to be made as part of the $42.5 Billion Bead Program and as 5G networks densification continues to scale through the deployment of small cell equipment. Much of these work activities will take place in public right-of-ways in closer proximity to people in urban and suburban areas of the country.

“I applaud NATE for utilizing the platform of the #ClimberConnection video series to educate the industry’s workforce on the best practices associated with working in densely populated urban centers and suburban areas,” said George Kerstetter, Director of Outside Plant at Beehive Broadband. “A lot can go wrong when working in these environments and it is critical that workers are educated and trained on work zone protection protocols to remain safe and stay out of harm’s way,” Kerstetter added.
