(Washington, D.C.) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association issued the following statement today after the House Subcommittee on Communications & Technology Hearing entitled “Breaking Barriers: Streamlining Permitting to Expedite Broadband Deployment”.

“NATE applauds the House Energy & Commerce Communications & Technology Subcommittee for championing key legislation that would streamline the cumbersome permitting process to expedite communications infrastructure and broadband deployment. Specifically, the Association looks forward to seeing how measures such as the WIRELESS Leadership Act, the BROADBAND Leadership Act, and the BEAD FEES Act progress,” stated President & CEO Todd Schlekeway.

“NATE echoes Energy & Commerce Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ (R-WA) belief that this is a historical opportunity in our nation’s history to connect all Americans, and permitting delays and unnecessary costs must not inhibit this opportunity. In the absence of meaningful reform, the Association’s members cannot build, deploy, or maintain the nation’s communications infrastructure and related networks,” added Schlekeway.
