NATE Applauds Carr’s Effort To Speed Up Broadband Deployment Process

(Washington, D.C.) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association today issued the following statement applauding FCC Chairman Brendan Carr for ending the rulemaking proposal that would have subjected tower builds to additional, needless, and onerous environmental reviews.

“NATE member companies stand ready to build and deploy across the nation. Unnecessary red tape and regulations can significantly hinder our crews. However, these types of costly and needless environmental reviews would only slow down efforts to build out next generation connectivity,” said President & CEO Todd Schlekeway.

“This proposed rulemaking had been open at the FCC since 2022 and served as a black cloud over our industry. By ending this proceeding in its tracks, the new leadership at the FCC is enabling our builders and crews to build the towers and infrastructure needed to do our part to close the digital divide. We look forward to working with Chairman Carr and the other FCC Commissioners to continue this new approach,” Added Schlekeway.
