NATE Releases Fraudulent Certifications & Unethical Training Video
For Immediate Release:
December 10, 2024
Video is the Seventh to Debut in Volume 7 of the Association’s Popular #ClimberConnection Series
(Watertown, SD) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association today unveiled a video devoting coverage to the topic of fraudulent certifications and unethical training that, unfortunately, occurs in the industry. The video is the seventh and final to debut in Volume 7 of the Association’s popular #ClimberConnection Series.
The video includes an informative, back and forth dialogue between narrator Sean Gilhooley and Ben Bowman, Vice President of Training Services at Safety LMS and Comtrain. During their conversation, Gilhooley and Bowman discuss the types of safety training employers are required to provide employees that leads to worker certification, scenarios in the industry where employers are falsifying employee training certifications due to various motives, how safety is potentially compromised when this activity occurs, and the importance of adding a layer of security to validate that training credentials are legitimate.
“It is unfortunate that a video had to be produced on this subject, but in my role, I can testify that the scenarios outlined regarding fraudulent certifications and unethical training practices occur and are reality in the industry,” said Ben Bowman. “It is my hope that this #ClimberConnection video provides the impetus for all customers, 3rd party training providers, employers, and technicians to be more vigilant regarding the offering and validating of training certifications and worker credentials. At the end of the day, cutting corners on training and certifications jeopardizes worker safety and compromises the quality of network and infrastructure deployment that takes place,” added Bowman.
