NATE Facilitates Tower Site Visit with Florida Congressman Gus Bilirakis
(Tarpon Springs, FL) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association, NATE’s Wireless Industry Network, Tower Systems, Inc. and Pinellas County Department of Safety and Emergency Services today facilitated an opportunity for Congressman Gus Bilirakis to conduct a communications tower site visit in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
During the site visit, Congressman Bilirakis toured the communications tower compound with event participants and learned about the work that is conducted daily building, maintaining and deploying communications sites and related wireless/broadband infrastructure. Congressman Bilirakis also experienced first-hand the harness and personal protective equipment gear that tower technicians utilize to carry out their jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
Congressman Bilirakis was also provided with a unique opportunity to hear directly from representatives of Pinellas County Department of Safety and Emergency Services regarding the vital emergency services connectivity they enable for first responders, law enforcement and fire department personnel in the county.
The event provided an invaluable forum for Congressman Bilirakis to discuss his legislative priorities given that he serves on the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology which has extensive jurisdiction over many of the issues impacting the industry.
NATE Wireless Industry Network (WIN) Florida State Liaison Lesley Liarikos from Tower Systems, Inc. and Donna Beim from Pinellas County Department of Safety and Emergency Services served as the primary on-site contacts at the event.
