NATE Newsroom:

NATE Now Accepting STAR Initiative Applications

Posted on: July 9, 2024 Category: NATE News

The application process for the NATE STAR Initiative is open for the 2024-2025 STAR Initiative program year. The NATE STAR Initiative is the Association’s signature program designed to help companies operate safely and recognize Principal Contractor, Subsidiary Contractor, Construction and Affiliate members who voluntarily adhere to higher safety standards. This is the only time of the year when new participants are accepted; current participants must re-apply at this time as well.

The STAR Initiative will enter its 15th program year in 2024-2025. The program continues to gain momentum and has experienced a record-breaking number of participating companies in recent years. Since its inception, the program’s site safety audits and program documentation requirements have served to allow participants to proactively identify and correct hundreds of job site hazards and deficiencies. These results have allowed NATE to extrapolate valuable benchmarks and tangible data from the program, while demonstrating compelling evidence that NATE STAR member companies are leading the charge to make our industry safer.

This year’s program will have new site safety audit questions to reflect the diversity of work currently taking place in the industry and capture more job-specific and relevant data. Affiliate members may submit Site Safety Observations utilizing the STAR Audit form as well.

In December of 2023, NATE renewed a five-year national strategic partnership with OSHA and the FCC. Currently, only participants in the 2024-2025 NATE STAR Initiative program have the option to participate in the NATE-OSHA-FCC Partnership. This Partnership provides the means to sit face to face, work together, and discuss ways to benefit our membership and industry through unified efforts. NATE STAR Initiative data will be reported to the Partnership as cumulative data and not company-specific. The Association encourages your company to participate in the NATE-OSHA-FCC Partnership program by checking the “I Agree to Participate” box on the application.

The NATE STAR Initiative provides an excellent opportunity for NATE members to have an impact on safety and recognizes those companies that embrace higher standards to safeguard their employees. Your involvement in the NATE STAR Initiative and the NATE-OSHA-FCC Partnership demonstrates your commitment to the highest level of tower site and worker safety.

For further information on this FREE program, go to members.natehome.com, review the eligibility and participation requirements criteria, complete the application form, and submit. If your company is dedicated to raising the bar for safety and professionalism in the industry, then you belong in this program. Applications must be submitted to the NATE office by August 31, 2024.
