From the NATE Office

As we head into another March, we anticipate that business will speed up for many NATE members. With winter beginning to make its annual exit, time spent on towers always seems to pick up.

Make sure your crews are ready to meet the increased demands you may be facing in the coming months. Take the time now to make sure everyone’s safety training is complete and up-to-date. Remind them of company policy regarding safety, and make sure everyone is prepared to operate in the field under the practices and procedures your company has established.

This time of year is similar for us in the NATE office. This is our opportunity to make sure we are prepared to conduct business for the Association for another year. We again take the time to determine if there is a better way to serve our members.

As I write this article, the 10th Annual NATE Conference & Exposition has yet to be held, but there are some things we can count on. NATE members will provide the NATE Board of Directors, Committees and Administrative Staff with insight and ideas into how the Association can better meet their needs. These ideas will be reviewed and discussed, and initiatives to continue improving NATE will be brought forth for consideration.

This process is not new to NATE, but it is enhanced this year by research and survey results of the Association’s membership. That information, combined with the feedback received directly from members at the annual event, will help define NATE’s direction for the coming years, and help to ensure that we are addressing the issues important to you, the NATE member.

We look forward to watching these changes unfold. To all of you who participated in this process, either through surveys, the annual conference and exposition, or through taking the time to stay in touch with NATE during the year, thank you! Your efforts will continue making your association stronger.

As a closing note, NATE will become 10 years old on March 31, 2005. On behalf of the Association, allow me to say THANK YOU to all NATE members who took the time to help your association succeed. Happy Birthday, NATE! May the next ten years shine even brighter!
