From the NATE Office
February marks the unofficial beginning and end of the year in the NATE office. The Annual NATE Conference & Exposition is how the NATE staff truly recognizes that another year has come and gone. On behalf of the entire team at NATE, welcome to NATE 2003!

NATE 2003 also marks the end of an extremely challenging year for our members. The fact that the economy has levied a heavy toll on this industry is not news to anyone. Yet NATE’s membership increased for the seventh straight year, a testament to our members’ dedication to safety.

That dedication was apparent in a number of ways during 2002. The beginning of the NATE/OSHA Partnership in Region V; the release of the latest NATE Safety Program Guide; the completion of the Tower Safety Signals Booklet; and successful edit of the Personnel Hoisting videotape are all accomplishments of which the Association should be proud.

And where better to show off that pride than NATE 2003. Here is our chance to bring all of NATE’s members together and continue to work for the betterment of our industry and the success of each individual member company. Take advantage of the opportunities provided by the educational sessions, trade show, voting and joint sessions. You’ll be glad you did.

My sincere thanks go out to those stalwart companies who have dedicated their resources to the success of NATE 2003 as sponsors. Your support is always deeply appreciated, but especially when financial issues have loomed large for the entire industry. Your dedication shines even brighter this year.

I want to personally thank each of the exhibitors for their commitment to this year’s outstanding trade show at NATE 2003 and for the paramount role they play in the success of this event. Thank you all for your continued involvement.

To Ken Meador and the NATE Trade Show Committee, I again extend my deepest gratitude for the guidance and determination you have again demonstrated in pulling together another successful show.

The NATE Board of Directors should also be recognized for the leadership, time and resources pledged to bring about another successful year for NATE. All NATE Committee Members also deserve our gratitude for the hard work they display in keeping NATE vital.

And of course there is no show without the NATE members who attend. Your loyalty to NATE means more than words can say. There is no NATE without you.

Finally, to Paula Nurnberg, Carol Coughlin, Deb Moldenhauer, Shelly Trego and Heather Paulson, thank you all for your relentless pursuit of excellence on behalf of NATE. NATE 2003 promises to be another success because of the efforts you put forth everyday in countless ways. I am extremely fortunate to work with you, and I thank you all for pulling together another fantastic show!

NATE is a success because everyone mentioned in this article was dedicated in some way to making the Association work. May you recognize the reward of your dedication often during this year’s show.
