NATE Participates at AGL Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina

AGL CharlotteThe National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) was an active participant at the AGL Conference held Wednesday, November 4 in Charlotte, North Carolina. NATE Operations Manager Shelly Trego and Executive Director Todd Schlekeway represented the Association at the event.

During the conference, NATE Executive Director Todd Schlekeway participated in a Q & A “State of NATE” luncheon presentation. The session highlighted many of the Association’s recent activities including the establishment of the NATE Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Committee and NATE’s current involvement with the OSHA Susan Harwood Training Grant program. Schlekeway also provided conference attendees with a sneak peak of NATE UNITE 2016, the Association’s premier conference and trade show that will take place February 22-25, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

During the Q & A session, Schlekeway the devoted some time to update attendees on the progress being made by the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA). The NWSA is a national non-profit assessment and certification organization that has been established by the wireless industry to provide thorough, independent assessments of knowledge and skills and provide verifiable worker certification in order to enhance safety, reduce workplace risk, improve quality, encourage training, and recognize the skilled professionals who work on towers and other non-standard structures.

The AGL Conference also included informative panel sessions and case studies focused on hot-button industry topics such as the Broadband Opportunities Technology Program, FirstNet, Spectrum, Technology, Tower Trends, Small Cells, DAS and the Evolution of Wi-Fi.

The event concluded with the Carolinas Wireless Association and AGL Media Group hosting a networking reception for conference attendees.
