NATE exhibited for the ninth time at the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show. Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center April 6 – 11, 2013, NAB showcased the latest ideas and innovations across all facets of media technology. Industry professionals from all corners of the globe gathered here to discuss and discover where the electronic media industry is heading.
Since its inception in 1995, NATE has produced several prominent guides for broadcasters. NATE was fortunate to have the opportunity to share these guides with broadcasters as well as other industry professionals at the NAB Show. NATE Chairman Jim Coleman, NATE Board Member Dave Anthony and Former NATE Chairman Don Doty addressed attendees during a panel session entitled Tower Contractors Qualifications, Safety Checklists and Guidelines - What to Look for… and Why. The Tower Owner Safety Checklist, Qualified Contractors Evaluation Checklist, the Telecommunication and Broadcast Tower Inspection Checklist, the definitive Tower Site Hazard Recognition Guide, and various additional safety resources, were among NATE safety related documents discussed during the informative presentation.
In addition to being granted a speaking opportunity, NATE was extremely honored to have the Tower Contractors Qualifications, Safety Checklists and Guidelines - What to Look for… and Why presentation selected for publication in NAB’s BEC Proceedings anuscript. The paper will be in the hands of potential NATE member customers as well as technology experts worldwide. This is an elite accomplishment for NATE and will be a respected resource to promote to all industry stakeholders.
Interest in joining NATE was expressed by a variety of businesses that were drawn to NATE’s mission, accomplishments, benefits and services. With many new member prospects, it is gratifying to note that awareness of NATE continues to spread throughout the broadcast and telecommunications tower industries. Many prospective members recognize that NATE is the leader in pursuing safety standards and practices for the tower industry.
NATE Chairman Jim Coleman stated, “I had a great time working in NATE’s booth at NAB. It was an honor to also be invited to participate in a panel along with Former NATE Chairman Don Doty and NATE Board Member Dave Anthony. The session allowed us to promote the tools created by NATE for the broadcast industry. I look forward with great enthusiasm to NATE’s continued involvement in the broadcast industry.”
On behalf of the NATE Administrative Staff, Paula Nurnberg and Shelly Trego would like to sincerely thank everyone who visited the NATE booth during the NAB Show, as well as NATE members Dave Anthony, Jim and Betty Ann Coleman, and John Hanna, Sr. for their assistance at the NATE booth in promoting NATE to attendees and exhibitors. Their dedication and enthusiasm for the association was clear as they spoke to prospective members as well as fellow NATE members.
NATE plans to exhibit at next year’s NAB show to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center April 5-10, 2014.
